Specialising in Autism and Developmental Conditions
We help people identify emotional triggers and find healthy ways to respond to challenging feelings. We teach emotional literacy, reading facial cues and understanding what they and others might be feeling. We support people to improve self management of their emotions and reduce meltdown responses.
Language and socialising styles are unique. Communicating, socialising or talking might be difficult for your child. We help with communication, socialising and community participation. We design programs which promote effective communication.
We help teach independent daily living skills such as toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, showering, washing and sleep routines. We find unique strengths and skills of the person to teach ways to improve independence.
We understand that sensory feelings can distress or excite people and that sometimes strong sensory reactions occur. We have specialised understanding of ASD and ADHD and can find alternative options to help people access positive sensory experiences. We can help identify sensory preferences and ways to help.
At Resolute Therapy, we use Positive Behaviour Support to help people with behaviours of concern. This evidence-based approach focuses on understanding the reasons behind a behaviour, rather than just the behaviour itself. Our goal is to improve quality of life and find positive ways to enhance participant's lives.
Resolute Therapy identifies strengths and finds adjustments to promote learning, self-help skills and friendship building. We work with children to develop foundation skills and assist teachers to meet your child's needs, including behaviour support and skill development across different settings within the school.
Individualised strategies to support your child to learn new social and functional skills. Resolute Therapy can provide support to assist with challenging activities. Strategy programs are developed to help you and your family understand how to support your child's development.
Behaviour assessments are completed for strategy support programs . These can provide helpful information for schools and the the NDIS to identify required areas for support. Assessments identify capabilities, so that suitable strategies are identified. We teach skills and adjust environments to prevent challenging behaviour.
At Resolute Therapy, we provide specialised behaviour support for NDIS participants. If you have funding under 'Improved Relationships', we can help. Our goal is to create positive outcomes.
What is Positive Behaviour Support? Positive Behaviour Support is an evidence-based approach we use to help people with behaviours of concern to keep everyone safe. Instead of just focusing on the behaviour, we work to understand the reasons behind it. Our aim is to improve a person's quality of life and reduce the need for restrictive practices (actions that are sometimes used to keep people safe but can limit their freedom).
Our Process Developing a comprehensive and effective behaviour support plan involves several key steps:
Getting to Know You: We start by meeting with the person, their family and caregivers. Through observations and assessments, we gather information to fully understand the behaviours of concern.
Creating the Plan: We use what we have learned to write a detailed Positive Behaviour Support Plan (BSP). This plan is tailored to the individual's specific needs and outlines positive strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviours.
Working Together: We believe in a team approach. We provide hands-on training for parents, carers, and support workers to teach you how to use the strategies in the plan effectively.
Ongoing Support: A plan needs to adapt as a person grows and changes. We monitor progress, review data, and make adjustments to the strategies as needed to ensure they remain effective.
Our Commitment to Quality
Every behaviour support plan we create is completed by NDIS approved registered behaviour support practitioner. This ensures that our staff comply with NDIS quality and safeguarding of NDIS participants to ensure that our strategies are safe, effective, specific to your needs, and based on the best available evidence.
